The Future of American Intelligence and Combating Terrorism
On February 20, the MUN Club, along with our co-sponsors, will be bringing in
Mr. Thomas Twetten, a former chief of the CIA Covert Operations Department. He
will address concerns over the future of American intelligence and how it can
be used in the fight against terrorism. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the
Glenn Miller Ballroom. After his speech, a brief question and answer session
will follow.

Interested in Animal Welfare? Join PAW!
PAW (Partnership for Animal Welfare) is a student group dedicated to the
welfare of non-human animals. You do not have to be vegetarian or vegan to
join! Topics that concern us include: animal exploitation in the factory
farming and fur industries, animal experimentation, companion animal welfare,
and many more! Come to our next bi-weekly meeting on Monday, February 26 from

Get a Bagel for a Book!
CU-Boulder is partnering with Moe's Bagels to celebrate Read Across America.
Share the joy of reading by bringing a new or gently used children's book to
either of the Boulder Moe's Bagels locations February 19-23 and receive a FREE
bagel with cream cheese (one bagel per person, per visit). All books will be
donated to local shelters, school reading programs, and Dental Aid. For more

Combining rock and reggae genres, State Radio will rock your face off with their
powerful stage presence and socially driven lyrics. Having toured Vans
Warped Tour and with RX Bandits, the band will play Glenn Miller Ballroom
on February 24, 2007. Tickets are available in the UMC connection. Doors open
at 7:30 PM. The New Amsterdams and Street to Nowhere will be headlining the

The Dennis Small Cultural Center and Program Council presents a free screening
of Rize on February 22nd at 7 PM in DSCC (UMC 457); a documentary by Dave
Chapelle about the groundbreaking dance phenomenon called Krumping and Clowning
that's exploding on the streets of South Central, LA. This -Ghetto Ballet- is a
revolutionary form of artistic expression born from oppression and performed by
dancers who have managed to RIZE above drugs, gangs and poverty.

upcoming Miramontes Music and Art festival. The festival will be celebrating
women in the arts, and will be one of most exciting events this semester!
Rules, guidelines, and submission info for the artwork contest is on the PC
website listed below. Submit a digital photo of your artwork and you might just
see it all over campus! Submissions are due February 27th.

Two Nights with Stephen Gyllenhaal
Stephen Gyllenhaal is poet and director who has directed films such as
Waterland and Homegrown and episodes of the popular television shows Twin
Peaks, Felicity, and The Shield. He will read from his book, Claptrap: Notes
from Hollywood, Thurs. Feb. 22 at 7:30 pm in ATLAS 100. There will be a Clips
show of his work and Director's Q&A on Wed. Feb. 21 at 7 pm in the ATLAS
Theater. Both events are free.
