SUBJECT: Scholarship for language study abroad (up to $20,000)
Dear students of Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Russian:
If you plan to study abroad next year for the full year (2012-2013 year), you should also consider applying for a Boren scholarship. The Boren scholarships are awarded to undergraduates who plan to study in Africa, The Middle East, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin American, Russia and NIS states (Semester at Sea is not eligible), and who will be studying language as part of their coursework. The scholarship awards are significant (up to $20,000 for the full year), and recipients must work for one year after graduation in the U.S. Departments of State (including Peace Corps, Foreign Service), Defense, Homeland Security or the Intelligence Community.
The Boren deadline is February 1, 2012, but the application process is quite involved and students should begin the process before winter break. Advance planning is necessary! To learn more, please visit http://www.borenawards.org/boren_scholarship
If you determine that you are a good candidate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible learn about next steps.
