SUBJECT: CU-BOULDER INSTALLS FIRST ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION
Wolf Law School, Parking and Transportation Services (PTS), and the Sustainability Office partnered to fund and install the first electric vehicle charging station on campus. The new 220-volt charging station is located in front of the Wolf Law building and is ready for business. Users can park, plug-in their vehicle, and charge at the station for a minimum of two hours and a maximum of three hours. Visitors using the station will pay average campus meter rates and a small fee for the electricity use, by ChargePoint membership or contactless credit card.
While building the law building, the campus had the foresight to install electrical conduits to the parking lot, which allowed for a fairly painless and cheap installation. Conduits are in place at three other parking lots on campus, where charging stations will likely be installed when the demand calls for it.
For more information on how to use the charging station, please visit the PTS website http://www.colorado.edu/pts/parking/ElectricVehicleChargingStation.html or contact Jena Cafiero, firstname.lastname@example.org .
