There are 30,000 students at CU.
There are 1,000 in your major.
What's going to set you apart?
The Core Leadership Program (CLP) was started by CU GOLD (Gaining Opportunities through Leadership Development) and advocates an approach to leadership that accomplishes positive change. The program is FREE and open to all CU students. Join CLP for Fall 2011 and develop new skills to help you stand out not only here at CU Boulder, but throughout your life. Over the course of a semester, CLP introduces lessons of leadership styles, diversity, and communication with various inspirational speakers and weekly workshops. You will make lasting friendships with fellow members, learn about your own leadership strengths and weaknesses, and develop skills to implement into your daily life.
Through CLP, you will:
1. Attend a two-day Leadership Retreat September 23-25th (Times TBA)
2. Attend interactive and dynamic sessions every Tuesday from 3:30-5PM on various leadership topics including:
- Servant leadership
- Decision making
- Leadership theory
- Diversity, identity and society
- Humor and group dynamics
- Global perspectives on leadership
3. Participate in a local Community Service Project with other CLP members.
4. Develop your own Personal Leadership Statement.
Students who complete all parts of the CLP program will be recognized at the Spring Leadership Recognition Reception. They will also receive a letter of certification signed by the Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and a CU GOLD t-shirt.
Because enrollment for the Core Leadership Program is free and non-selective, the first 40 students who register are enrolled in the program. The deadline for registration is Friday, Sept.9, 2011 at noon. Applications are located on the CU GOLD website here: http://umc.colorado.edu/studentlife/cugold/clp. For more information, visit http://umc.colorado.edu/cugold or our office (UMC 444), or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, 303.735.0640.
