    SUBJECT: Selective Service Requirement

    Dear Student,

    Upon reviewing our records, we noticed that either you have not filled out a Selective Service certification form, or you have filled it out incorrectly. We use the Selective Service certification form to fulfill the state requirement that all males between the ages of 17 and 9 months through 25 must certify they have registered with the Selective Service office prior to enrolling at any state-supported institution in Colorado (Colorado House Bill 1021, effective July 1, 1987).

    All males in this age group must certify, or they will be prevented from registering for future classes.

    If you have not registered and you fit the categories above, you can go to the Selective Services System web site (http://www.sss.gov) and register there. To register online, go to the Selective Services web site and click on the icon that says, "Register online NOW". A registration acknowledgment card will arrive in the mail about 30 to 90 days after you register. Furthermore, you are required to notify Selective Service within ten days of any changes to any of the information you provided on your registration card, like a change of address. You are required to report changes until January 1 of the year you turn 26. You may use the online "change of address" at https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfAddressChange.aspx or by completing a change of address form (SSS Form 2) at any post office, U.S. Embassy or Consulate office or by calling 1-847-688-6888.

    You must also complete the university form that certifies to us that you have registered with Selective Services. You can do this electronically online from your student portal on myCUInfo at https://portal.cusys.edu/MyCUInfoFedAuthLogin.html . Choose the Student tab, then choose Registrar Forms (at right of page), then the Selective Service (For Males Only) link and complete the form.

    Failure to do so by Wednesday, February 23rd will prevent you from registering for summer and fall semester classes. Registration time assignments for summer classes begin March 2nd and registration for fall begins April 4th.

    The Office of the Registrar is located in Regent Hall room 105. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Please register and complete the form by February 23rd to ensure your eligibility for future registrations.
