SUBJECT: May 2010 Commencement Ceremony
Dear Degree Candidate:
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am pleased to invite you to participate in the university commencement ceremony on Friday, May 7, at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Stadium, where all graduate and undergraduate degrees will be officially conferred.
This is a very dignified and significant event in the life of our students and their families. Each ceremony begins with the historic processional of faculty and all graduates from Norlin Quadrangle across campus to the stadium. This procession symbolizes your journey through the university. The ceremony will conclude with the singing of the alma mater, which signifies your new status as University Alumni.
Details about the ceremony, academic regalia, your diploma, disability access, and parking information are available under the "Spring Ceremony" link at http://www.colorado.edu/commencement. Please review this information online.
You will also be receiving an email containing ceremony details from Dr. James F. Williams II, Campus Commencement Marshal and Dean of Libraries. A commencement information brochure will be mailed to your family.
I commend you for completing your academic studies here and hope you have gained an enthusiasm for lifelong learning and discovery. I trust CU-Boulder will continue to serve as an important resource for you throughout your life.
Best wishes and congratulations.
