Date: Thu, 3 Sep 2009 20:31:47 -0600 (MDT) From: Vital Academic Student E-Memo <memofrom@Colorado.EDU> Subject: Pass/Fail reminder
TO: Select CU Students
FROM: Vince Calvo, Office of the Registrar
SUBJECT: Pass/Fail reminder
The DEADLINE to designate or remove pass/fail status on courses is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11th.
NOTE: You can change a pass/fail course to a letter grade (or vice versa) on CuConnect under the "Academics and Research" tab in the "Registrar Forms" channel through 5 p.m. Friday, September 11th.
If you are enrolled in a course for pass/fail for FALL semester, please be
aware of your college or school policies related to courses taken pass/fail.
For example, students in the College of Arts and Sciences:
- may NOT use courses taken pass/fail to fulfill core or general education requirements,
- may NOT use courses taken pass/fail to fulfill the Minimum Academic Preparation Standards (MAPS) requirements
- may NOT use courses taken pass/fail to complete major or minor requirements.
Arts and Sciences students must complete all requirements for a letter grade (A-F). Arts and Sciences students can use pass/fail courses ONLY for elective courses, and can apply a maximum of 6 credit hours of pass/fail courses toward their degree.
All other colleges and schools should check with their dean. Graduate students can't use pass/fail courses towards their degree. Law students cannot choose the grading scheme for courses, as the course is either graded or pass/fail as determined by the faculty without individual student selection.
You can verify if you're enrolled in any courses for pass/fail by looking at your schedule via CUConnect at https://cuconnect.colorado.edu
