    SUBJECT: Voter Registration Information

    Dear Student,

To comply with the voter registration provision included in the 1998
reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, CU-Boulder is providing you with
    information about voter registration.

State of Colorado voter registration forms are available to you at the
    following locations on campus:

Office of the Registrar. Regent 105
Office of Financial Aid, Regent 175
Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, 1505 University
    Avenue.

If you are a resident of Boulder County and wish to register to vote in county,
state and federal elections, go to
    http://www.bouldercounty.org/clerk/elections/index.htm for the latest election
news and to access the voter registration form. You must register no later
than 29 days before the election and be 18 years old on or before the date of
the election in which you want to vote. If you are not certain if you are
registered to vote, you can verify your voter registration and ballot status at
    http://www.bouldercounty.org/clerk/elections/promptforname.html . NOTE: If
you currently reside in Broomfield county, information on where to mail your
state voter registration form is available at
http://www.broomfield.org/elections/. If you are a Colorado resident and reside
in a county other than Boulder County, you can access the state voter
    registration form at http://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/main.htm .

If you are NOT a Colorado resident and wish to register in your state of
residence, you can access the national voter registration form at
    http://www.fabnit.com/nvra-update-09-12-06.pdf. Please note the following
    exceptions:

    - New Hampshire town and city clerks will accept this application only as a
request for their own mail-in absentee voter registration form.
    - North Dakota does not have voter registration.
    - Wyoming cannot accept this form under State law.

    NOTE:
    - The voter registration deadline for Colorado residents is October 6 for the
November 4, 2008 General Election. Here are other deadlines to keep in mind:

October 6 through November 4 - Elector may complete a sworn affidavit for a
change of address in the County Clerk's Office stating that he/she moved within
the county no later than the 30th day before the election.

October 20 - Early voting begins at the early voters' polling place for the
    general election.

October 28 - Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot for the general election if
    mailed.

October 31 - Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot for the general election if
not mailed and last day for early voting at the early voter's polling place for
    the general election.

    November 4 - Polls open 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. All mail-in ballots and
emergency mail-in ballots shall be in the hands of the county clerk no later
than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

To access any of the above voter registration forms via the web, you need Adobe
Acrobat Reader, which you can download for free from the above indicated web
    sites.

Once you access the appropriate voter registration form, you will need to print
it out, complete it, and mail it to the address indicated on the form or
website. Please be sure to mail or send it prior to any deadline each state
has regarding accepting voter registration. The only state that doesn't accept
the national voter registration form is Wyoming and students will need to
contact their local county clerk. For more information please look at
http://soswy.state.wy.us/election/clerks.htm for further assistance to register
    to vote.

If you cannot access the voter registration form via the web, State of Colorado
Voter Registration forms are available on-campus at the sites listed above or
by emailing us at registrar@colorado.edu or by calling us at 303-492-6970 to
request a form mailed to you.
