SUBJECT: Know an Outstanding Leader?
CU GOLD (Gaining Opportunities through Leadership Development) is now accepting
applications for their campus-wide annual Leadership Recognition Reception. If
you know someone who embodies one of the following awards and wish to nominate
them, please submit a typed statement of 500 words or less to
Your submission should include your relationship to the nominee, the capacity
in which you have worked with the nominee, what they have done to exemplify the
requirements of the award, and their potential for leadership in the future.
Also please include your name, email address, and telephone number so we can
contact you with questions and/or concerns regarding your submission. The
nomination should be sent via email to CUGOLD@colorado.edu and the name of the
award you are nominating for should be typed in the subject line. All
nominations must be received by Wednesday, April 11th. Awards will be
presented at the Leadership Recognition Reception on May 2, 2007.
Student Organization of the Year
This award will be presented to a student organization who has demonstrated
outstanding leadership, involvement and positive change. Please tell us how
the organization has made a difference on campus and promoted leadership from
This award will be presented to a student who is an emerging leader on campus
and has shown potential to greatly impact the campus community. This leader
need not be a recognizable figure, simply one who has worked hard and made a
Outstanding Student Voice
This award will be given to a student who has shown his or her leadership by
working to make positive change for this campus through activism. They have
made the voices of other students heard and are working to improve awareness
and conditions on campus for all students.
This award will honor a graduating senior who has left their mark at CU during
their time here. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated outstanding
leadership on campus and whose impact will be seen for years to come.
Supportive Staff Member of the Year
This award is for a staff member who works with student organizations on campus
and puts in a great effort to help and support the different groups he or she
works with in an outstanding way. We are looking for a staff member who has
helped make the success of student groups possible, someone who mentors
students, employees, and encourages student development.
