SUBJECT: Power to be restored to CU Rec Center Friday Morning following power
line rupture

Workers outside the CU Recreation Center struck a power line at approximately 2
p.m. Thursday, shutting down power to the central campus for about 40 minutes.
The power was restored to all buildings except the Recreation Center, which is
closed and expected to reopen sometime Friday. Students, faculty and staff can
check the Center's Web site for information on re-opening at
http://www.colorado.edu/rec-center/index.html . There were no injuries in the
incident.
