SUBJECT: Data Management Task Force Survey

In July 2011, I initiated a Data Management Task Force to begin a collaborative
discussion among disparate but critical entities in the CU Boulder community.
This task force is a nexus for developing recommendations for best addressing
storage, curation, sharing, and access of research data.

The first part of this effort requires gathering institution-wide information
via a short 15-minute survey to help determine the types of research data
management services needed. I request that you, as a PI or researcher fill out
the survey (or delegate someone to do so on your behalf).

Your input will help the task force develop recommendations on technologies and
services to enable secure and sharable research. Understanding more about your
research data needs, will help us provide diversified storage services, data
sharing mechanisms, and support necessary for managing your research data, e.g.
    fulfilling data management plan requirements.

All respondents who enter contact information will be entered into a drawing to
win 10 TB of raw data storage for three years, compliments of Research
Computing. In addition, the summary findings will be shared with all those who
enter their contact information. Thank you in advance for being a part of this
    important discovery effort.
