SUBJECT: Critical Research Equipment and Systems
We are writing to request your assistance in identifying critical research
equipment in your department that could be significantly impacted by a loss of
electrical service or equipment failure. Specifically, we are identifying
equipment that should be on emergency back-up power, or be monitored by an
adequate alarm system. Subject equipment could include, but is not limited to
low temperature freezers, environmental chambers, and animal housing facilities.
Please provide a list of this critical equipment to Sara Rose, 303-735-1534, or
Sara.Rose@Colorado.edu by December 31, 2011.
Once we have received this information, Chris Ewing will contact your PI's in
order to assist with the review of their critical equipment lists and help
identify system requirements to ensure adequate back-up power and/or alarm
needs. Where system deficiencies are identified, we will jointly make
recommendations for upgrades and help identify potential funding to carry out
recommended upgrades.
