SUBJECT: What is Faculty Service? How Is It Recognized and Rewarded?

    You know who you are . . . .

You serve . . . on committees, in the community, personally contributing in
ways that may not be fully known or appreciated. You serve because you are
devoted to CU: to what CU offers its students, to the smooth functioning of
your campus and CU generally, to your profession or discipline, and to the
larger community. You are proud of your contributions and those of your
colleagues, knowing that CU would be less without your endeavors. We want to
know your opinion. What should -count- as service? What does -count- as
service? Is the level of recognition the right one?
You can help enhance university-wide understanding of service activities,
assure that the diverse voices of faculty and administrators are heard, and
play an important role in the development of system-wide policies that affect
how faculty service is defined and evaluated, by completing the confidential
survey on service that will be available February 8, 2008. You may access the
survey by clicking on the link below:

The survey should take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and as a thank you
for your participation, we have an optional drawing for a certificate for
    purchases at your campus bookstore.
