Dear Boulder Campus Faculty:
It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the university commencement
ceremony on Friday, May 11, 2007. Please join us as we confer degrees to the
Class of 2007. Your participation at each of CU-Boulder's annual commencement
ceremonies demonstrates to both the students and to their families, the pride
you share in their success and your presence is an important acknowledgment of
the significance of their achievements.
Each ceremony begins with what has become a valued tradition at CU-Boulder, the
historic processional of faculty and the graduating class of 2007 from the
Norlin Quadrangle across campus to the stadium. Please join the deans, vice
chancellors, and me that morning to honor your students' academic journey
across the campus. The procession will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. We will hold
the ceremony in Folsom Stadium, regardless of the weather conditions, starting
at 8:30 a.m. Please be aware of the forecast so that you can dress
appropriately. The ceremony will last approximately one and one-half hours.
Faculty who attend the ceremony are invited to attend a brunch immediately
following in the Folsom Club level on the east side of the stadium.
For those of you who need to rent academic regalia, please visit the
commencement web site at http://www.colorado.edu/commencement and fill out the
online regalia order form, under the "Boulder Campus Faculty" link, by April 4.
It is important to respond promptly as Willsie Cap and Gown will not be able to
process late orders. My office will pay for costs of this rental. Your regalia
will be available for pick up in the Balch Fieldhouse on:
Wednesday, May 9 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 10 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Friday, May 11 from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.
