SUBJECT: Join the discussion about clickers on campus
As you may already know, the campus is planning to centralize support for
clickers--handheld devices that allow students to respond to in-class
questions--by fall 2007.
Many campus faculty members already have used or learned about clicker systems,
and therefore have valuable knowledge about which devices work best for them,
what functionality is important to their teaching, and what application
integration is necessary.
Faculty input about clickers is vital to this campus-wide project, and I invite
you to share your thoughts and experiences by joining a series of online
conversations at the CU Clicker discussion site at
http://clickersatcu.blogspot.com. On this site, you will find several
questions designed to promote discussion about various aspects of clicker use.
There is also additional information about clickers and a "catch-all" topic
where you can express thoughts that do not fit neatly in any of the other
categories.
The site will be active until March 23rd. The campus will use the information
posted there to guide the direction of the campus clicker project.
As mentioned in my previous E-Memo regarding clickers, if you would like to see
clickers in action, Mike Dubson of Physics has graciously invited interested
faculty to visit his class. The class is held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
at 11 and 1 in Duane G1B20.
We welcome any questions or comments you may have about this process and the
campus's direction.
