LECTURE BY RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR

LASP PUBLIC LECTURE: "SOLAR PROBE AND THE SOLAR WIND"
Dr. David Malaspina will discuss measurements of electric and magnetic fields

CENTER OF THE AMERICAN WEST PRESENTS 2012 WALLACE STEGNER AWARD, APRIL 25
CU's Center of the American West is proud to award Kent Haruf its highest
honor, the Stegner Award. Haruf is the author of four novels, including the
1999 finalist for the National Book Award and U.S. bestseller, Plainsong, a
quintessentially Colorado novel that has also been adapted for the stage. Join
us on Wednesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom of Wolf Law

The Inca of western South America created the most extensive empire in the
pre-Columbian Americas and carefully observed the skies. Come learn about the
"dark constellations," when the Sun is green, how the Inca planted according to
the Pleiades, and why the Inca's year has only 328 days.

OUTREACH AWARD PROPOSAL DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 30
The deadline for the 2012-2013 outreach award proposals has been extended to
Monday, April 30. Faculty applicants may request up to $8,000 and faculty
groups may request up to $24,000 for each outreach project proposal. The online
submission form and the 2012-2013 proposal guidelines can be found at

ITALIAN THEATRE PERFORMANCE
The Italian theatre class invites you to its annual performance in Italian: "Il
cavadente (The Dentist)" from a scenario by Flaminio Scala. The play follows
the traditional theatre form of Commedia dell'arte which originated in Italy in
the 16th century. Several of the characters will be wearing authentic masks.
FREE! Refreshments after the show. Old Main Chapel, Saturday, April 28, 7 pm;
Sunday, April 29, 4 pm.

RECESS WITH THE WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTER

Sexpressions is a fun night of food and entertainment hosted by the Women's
Resource Center. It is a talent showcase celebrating a positive expression of
women's sexuality. As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Sexpressions is
intended to be a safe and affirming environment for women! The event is open to
the public, so please join us April 27 in Club 156 for a night of
fantastic performances. Doors open at 5 pm, show starts at 5:30.
