Save the Dates: Aug. 1-2 for the 15th Colorado Learning and Teaching with
Technology (COLTT) conference. REGISTRATION OPEN TODAY - call for proposals
open until Aug. 28. This regional conference offers two days of the latest
research and presentations about technology in education, hands-on workshops,
D2L, and much more. COLTT will be held in Wolf Law on the CU Boulder campus.

OUTREACH AWARD PROPOSALS DUE APRIL 23
The CU-Boulder Outreach Committee is pleased to announce the call for proposals
from faculty requesting funds for outreach programs to be conducted during the
2012-2013 fiscal year. The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, April 23.

CU AT THE LIBRARY: EARTHQUAKES! FAR AWAY AND CLOSE TO HOME
Join Anne Sheehan, CU-Boulder professor of geophysics, for a program titled
"Earthquakes! Far Away and Close to Home." Sheehan will share her research
that has included work in the Himalaya, New Zealand, the Colorado Rocky
Mountains, and the Rio Grande Rift. Much of her work includes the deployment of
portable seismometers that record both distant and local earthquakes.

From racial tensions to civil unions and beyond. How do the media cover stories
about diversity and why? How is that changing in the era of social media and
citizen journalism? Keith Woods is vice president for diversity in news and
operations at NPR, former dean of faculty at the journalism think tank the
Poynter Institute, and a former newspaper reporter.

CU's Center of the American West will celebrate the release of Laura
Pritchett's book, Great Colorado Bear Stories (Riverbend Press). In an
evening augmented with images and lively discussion, Pritchett and CU Professor
and Daily Camera columnist Jeff Mitton will weave stories and science to create
a portrait of the human-bear intersect. Join us on Tuesday, April 17, 7 p.m.
