    GRE PREP COURSES OFFERED THIS SUMMER THROUGH THE DIVISION OF
    CONTINUING EDUCATION

    Verbal/Analytical Writing and Quantitative GRE prep courses are being offered
    through the division of Continuing Education in the summer. The skills and
    strategies you learn in these prep courses will not only help immensely on

    GRANT WRITING WORKSHOP OFFERED THIS SUMMER THROUGH CONTINUING
    EDUCATION

    Advance your skills in grant writing this summer with Continuing Education's
    Grant Writing course, beginning June 1. It's the only grant writing course
    officially sponsored by University of Colorado. Course topics include audience-
    centered writing and how to match your program's goals with those of individual
    grant makers. Students will have the chance to get drafts critiqued in class. Four

    THE U LIBRARIES

    Series of events exploring the book as artifact and art opens Thursday, May 19
    with exhibits reception and artist talk. Reception at 6 pm in Norlin east lobby;
    talk by Peter Thomas, "What is a Book? What is an Artist's Book?" at 7 pm in
    Norlin Commons room E113. Exhibitions of work by Colorado hand paper
    maker/paper artist and CU alum, Ray Tomasso, and members of the Guild of
    Book Workers Rocky Mountain Chapter.

    REINHARDT LECTURE IN PHILOSOPHY OF MATHEMATICS BY CRISPIN WRIGHT

    The William Reinhardt Memorial Lecture in Philosophy of Mathematics
    commemorates the life of William Reinhardt, Professor of Mathematics at CU
    from 1967 until his death in 1998. The Reinhardt Lecture brings a leading
    contemporary philosopher of mathematics to speak on some topic in set
    theory, logic, or the foundations of mathematics. The 2011 Reinhardt Lecture, by
    Professor Crispin Wright of NYU, is entitled "Basic Arithmetical Knowledge."

    ENGINEERING COMMUNITY FORUM

    On Wednesday, May 4, the Office of Faculty Affairs will host a community
    forum on the theme of advancing the study of engineering at CU-Boulder.
    Please join us in the Discovery Learning Center Collaboratory from 2- 3:30 pm
    for a conversation led by four visiting deans (representing Kansas State U.,
    Clemson U., U. of Pittsburg, and Virginia Tech). A reception will follow at 3:30

    CU-BOULDER WEBSITE INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE NIGHT OF MAY 6

    ITS and University Communications are working together to update the
    equipment that supports the CU-Boulder website http://www.colorado.edu.
    This vital maintenance will make campus websites beginning with
    http://www.colorado.edu unavailable for content changes by web administrators
    on Friday, May 6 starting at 7 pm and unavailable to view starting at 10 pm. The
    web site should be completely available by 1 am on Saturday, May 7. This
    outage and resulting maintenance should otherwise appear seamless.

    JUST DESSERTS FEATURES MYSTERY WRITER MAGGIE SEFTON

    Friends of the CU Libraries will host a talk by bestselling author Maggie
    Sefton, Friday, May 13, 2011, at 7 pm in the Wolf Law Building on the CU
    campus. Maggie's Knitting Mystery Series interweaves amateur sleuthing,
    knitting and a group of colorful folks who frequent a small-town knitting shop
    in the Colorado Rockies. Parking in Lot 470, west of the Law Building. Light
    catered reception before presentation.
