FUNDAMENTALS OF SUPERVISION - SUMMER 2011
Facilitator: Katherine Skallerud, Organizational & Employee
Development. This course is for lead workers and individuals
who supervise staff, students, seasonal and temporary
employees. The following supervision skills are covered:
supervisor's function, communication, delegation, on-the-job
training, conflict management, coaching and diversity. It is
also an excellent course for staff preparing to supervise.
Attendance for all sessions is mandatory. Five Wednesdays,

CLASSIFIED STAFF PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS
The 2010-2011 performance evaluation ended March 31, 2011.
Supervisors must complete an evaluation for all classified
staff and retirees in regular non-temporary positions by their
department's April deadline to ensure that all evaluations are
received by the Office of Labor Relations by May 2, 2011(No

PHILOSOPHER DAVID CHALMERS TO GIVE TWO PUBLIC TALKS
World-renowned philosopher David Chalmers (Australian National
University) will present two lectures, both open to the
public: "Two Puzzles about the Contingent A Priori," 3:15 pm,
Monday, April 25, in Old Main Chapel, and "The Singularity: A
Philosophical Analysis," 6 pm, Tuesday, April 26, in Old Main
Chapel. The first talk will cover slightly more technical
material, and the second will be aimed at a broad audience.
Free and open to the public.
