    BEGINNING PIANO CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AGE 7, 8 AND 9

    The College of Music is offering a piano class for children in second, third
    and fourth grades who have no prior piano lessons. The class includes piano
    and theory instruction, music ensemble experiences and reading skills. Lots
    of fun! It meets in the Imig Music Building piano laboratory every Friday,
    4:10-5 p.m., Jan. 22-April 30 (14 meetings). Tuition: $300. Places limited

    STUDY RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE IN ST. PETERSBURG THIS SUMMER! - INTEREST
    MEETING 1/21/10

    Students can make this summer unforgettable by spending six weeks learning
    about Russian culture and language in St. Petersburg! The program, directed
    by Prof. Artemi Romanov, includes excursions in and around the vibrant city
    of St. Petersburg, and a weekend trip to Moscow. Students earn nine credits
    and don't need any prior experience in Russian language. Info meeting:

    A&S MAGAZINE UPDATE: SEX, 'LIES' AND VIDEOTAPE; INDIA'S BIG GULP; MOLDING
    BETTER SCIENCE TEACHERS

    In the newest issue of Colorado Arts & Sciences Magazine: "Sex, 'lies' and
    videotape" details a CU anthropologist's debunking of a critic of Margaret
    Mead. A physicist shows how "India's big gulp" is depleting groundwater on
    which 600 million people depend. Throughout the university, scholars
    responding to a national crisis and are finding and testing ways to mold
    more and better K-12 science and math teachers. These and other stories are
    now online.

    CHA'S WORK-IN-PROGRESS SERIES

    The Center for Humanities and the Arts invites you to our Work-in-Progress
    Series featuring Padma Rangarajan, Assistant Professor in the Department of

    FUN RESEARCH PROJECTS FOR KIDS!

    The Cognitive Development Center in the Psychology and Neuroscience
    Department has on-going projects on memory and language development! We
    welcome all children from birth to age 10. A visit, scheduled at your
    convenience, lasts about 30 minutes. Parking is free and babysitting is
    available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel and kids receive
    a fun prize and a certificate!

    ENJOY SINGING? AUDITION FOR EXTREME MEASURES A CAPPELLA!

    The Buff's first COED A Cappella group, Extreme Measures, is holding
    auditions. We are a student group that loves singing and music. Artists we
    cover range from The Jackson 5 to Radiohead. All experience levels are
    welcome. Auditions will be in Hellems 193 on Jan. 19-20 from 6-9 p.m.
