    Effective immediately, the Student Organizations Finance Office (SOFO), UMC
    231, will provide Buff Bulletin job numbers to groups using SOFO accounts.
    After creating a Buff Bulletin or Student Buff Bulletin on the web, please
    contact SOFO at 303.492.6366 for the job number rather than University
    Communications which formerly offered this service.

    CENTER TO ADVANCE RESEARCH AND TEACHING IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES GRANTS

    CARTSS supports social science faculty research and teaching initiatives on
    the CU campus with grants up to $4000.
    - CARTSS Scholars Fund: supports research activities of social science
    faculty.
    - CARTSS Seed Fund: start-up funds for planning interdisciplinary research
    activities involving faculty from one+ social science departments.

    RELIGION AND SOCIETY PAPER AWARD

    The Jen Hlavacek Award on Religion and Society will give $1,000 to the
    undergraduate student at the University of Colorado-Boulder who submits the
    best paper on a topic relating to how religious activities and beliefs
    affect and are affected by larger society. The submission deadline is April
    1, 2009. See the web page below for details. Please encourage students
    working in this area to submit a paper for the award.

    FREE COOKIES AND ART AT THE UMC ART GALLERY!

    "The Alchemy of Cloth" features wool, paper, and fiber artwork of local
    artist Mary Louise Learned. Inspired by music, nature, and seeing beyond the
    obvious, Learned seeks to communicate the physicality of these subjects
    through sewn canvases. As always, it's "Free Cookie Wednesday" every week
    beginning at noon (while they last). UMC Art Gallery hours 10:30 a.m. - 5:30
    p.m. M-F, located just south of the UMC Reception Desk. The Alchemy of Cloth
    is on view through March 20.
