PAC Grant Writing Workshop
The Postdoctoral Association of Colorado's first workshop for spring semester
2009 -Grant Writing,- is on February 19, 2009 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in the
UMC Aspen Rooms. Leslie Leinwand, Professor, MCDB, CU-Boulder, will discuss
how she has successfully competed for several prestigious grants. Since lunch

Vehicle and Bike Detours Around Cherryvale Road
CDOT will replace the Cherryvale bridge over US 36 between Feb. 16 and June.
Cherryvale Rd. between South Boulder Rd. and Marshall Rd. closes at 7 a.m.
February 16. Bikes and autos will detour west to Broadway and east to McCaslin.

will close periodically Feb. 16, 17 and 18 during nighttime hours 11 p.m. to 5
a.m.

FUN RESEARCH PROJECTS FOR KIDS!
The Cognitive Development Center in the Psychology Department is conducting
projects on memory and language development! We welcome all children from birth
to age 10. A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 30 minutes.
Parking is free and babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are
compensated for travel and kids receive a fun prize and a certificate!

Film Studies Department Faculty Candidate Presentation
Friday, February 20th, 10:00 - 11:15am
Presentation and Q&A session will be held in ATLAS 102, hosted by the Film
Studies Department.
Ariana Hamidi is an experimental film and video artist, poet and programmer
whose work has exhibited at Rotterdam, Anthology Film Archives, Black Maria,
New York Underground and others. She has taught at the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she served as the founding director of the
Milwaukee Underground Film Festival.
Free presentation, open to everyone.

Fiske Planetarium News!
This week, 2/19 and 20 enjoy "Leviathans of Deep Space" with CU's own Dr. Erica
Ellingson at 7:30pm (Thursday night is FREE for students with an ID).
Sommers-Bausch Observatory will open at 8pm Friday for night sky viewing,
weather permitting. Friday night laser shows are Laser Depeche Mode at 9:30pm
and Laser Pink Floyd: Welcome to the Machine at 10:45pm. Saturday matinees are
Space Primer at 2pm and Great Space Chase at 3:15pm.
