"NEW CLASSES" AT THE STUDENT REC CENTER
A new session of classes begins the week of Oct 20 at the CU Student
Recreation Center. Registration is going on now for Hip Hop Dance, Latin
Dance, Cuban Salsa, Swing Dance, Ballroom, and Belly Dance. Regisration
is also ongoing for Women's Self Defense, Massage Techniques, and Adult
Learn-to-Swim classes. Class space is limited, so register now!

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS AT THE UMC ART GALLERY
"Day of the Dead" themed artwork from the National School of Fine Arts,
Mexico, on view through Nov 7. Make paper flowers throughout the run of
the exhibition, plus four artbreaks-sugar skull decorating Oct. 6 and 23
at 3pm, and reverse glass painting Oct. 21 and Nov. 4 at 11am. Free
cookies on Wednesday at noon (while they last).Open M-F 10:30am-5:30pm,

TRANSNATIONAL DISCOURSES OF ISLAMIC COMMUNITY
One-Day Interdisciplinary Conference Friday, Oct 24, 9am-5:30pm
British Studies Room, Norlin Library This national conference will
analyze the concept of a global Islamic community at the margins of and
outside of the Middle East. Invited scholars will present research from
around the world, addressing questions of political identity,
globalization and Islam. This conference is funded by an Innovative Seed
Grant from the University of Colorado and the Center for Asian Studies.
