    The Center for Humanities and the Arts invites you to our Work-in-
    Progress Series featuring Jordan Alexander Stein, Assistant Professor,
    Department of English. Professor Stein will speak on, "Secular
    Aesthetics: Form, Theme, and Method in American Studies." Advance copies

    MAILING SERVICES WILL CLOSE 2 P.M. THURSDAY, SEPT. 18

    Due to the football game and early road closures on Sept. 18th,
    Mailing Services will close at 2 p.m.. All departments will receive
    mail service that morning. The Denver shuttle will leave Regent at 8
    a.m.. The last pickup at Regent for Meterline processing will be at
    noon on that day. All outgoing mail must be received by noon at 3300
    Walnut for same day service. Please contact Mailing Services at 2-6242
    with questions.

    FREE MINI CONSTITUTIONS AVAILABLE SEPT. 17 IN UMC

    Sept. 17 is Constitution Day. In celebration IECE is giving away
    pocket constitutions. Come get yours during lunch in UMC. That night
    attend an original, Constitution Day multi-media concert by Hunter
    Ewan - Grusin Hall, 7:30 p.m.. Ewan's composition features a set of
    live performers underscoring a series of dramatic readings, where

    ALUMNIGHT WITH JEN DEAN: SUNDAY, SEPT. 21. 7 P.M., ATLAS 102

    Free Q & A with Film Editor Jen Dean and free admission! Jen Dean is a
    commercial film editor based at Lost Planet Editorial since 1999,
    where she apprenticed under editor/owner Hank Corwin (The New World)
    and worked with Martin Scorsese. She has edited commercials, music
    videos and a lifetime achievement film for designer Carolina Herrera.
    Jen recently won Best Editing in a Music Video from the Association of
    Independent Creative Editors.

    RED HEROINE (HONGXIA) WITH DEVIL MUSIC ENSEMBLE: WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 17,
    7 P.M. ONLY, MUENZINGER AUDITORIUM

    Note: Admission to this film is $8 ($5 for students). A 1929 silent
    martial arts film, made at the height of Shanghai's martial-arts
    craze, "Red Heroine" is the story of a maiden kidnapped by an outlaw.
    The screening of this rare, surviving silent martial-arts picture -
    most were destroyed during the Communist revolution - will be
    accompanied by the live music of the Devil Music Ensemble, three multi-
    instrumental musicians from Boston, Mass., known for their
    transporting percussive style and instrumentation in their
    performances of original scores. The IFS is sponsored by the Film
    Studies Program at CU-Boulder.

    Theatre & Dance presents Sarah Kane's "4:48 Psychosis" and "The
    Lottery" by Shirley Jackson. Two plays about ostracism and the
    strangeness of the human psyche; one story told through internal
