CAMPUS PRESS OPEN FORUM ON DIVERSITY ISSUES
The Campus Press hosts an open forum 4 p.m, Tuesday, March 11, Glenn
Miller ballroom, UMC to discuss how the student publication can expand
coverage of diversity issues on the CU campus. Faculty, student leaders,
community diversity leaders and Front Range journalists will speak on
striking a balance on covering diversity issues in journalism. An open
question-answer period that includes Campus Press members will follow
the speakers.

SOUNDBITE AND THE MIRAMONTES MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL PRESENT:
OPEN MIC POETRY READING, POETS NEEDED!
SoundBite and The Miramontes Music and Arts Festival, is hosting an Open
Mic Poetry Session, 12-1 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, UMC Dining Room. The
Miramontes Festival highlights the contributions from woman-identified
musicians and artists. Students are invited to read poetry by women or
celebrating women. Bring your own or read from your favorite writer.

EVENING ESL CLASSES AT INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH CENTER
The Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies'
International English Center (IEC) is offering multi-skill evening
classes in English as a second language (ESL) to Boulder residents and
visitors. Classes meet for six weeks at beginning, intermediate, or
advanced levels on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for $355,
text included. CU faculty/staff non-credit discount applies. Improve
your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Classes start 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 12.

SONGWRITING WORKSHOP AND PERFORMANCE: MOIRA SMILEY
As the final event of the Miramontes Music and Arts Festival, join
esteemed vocalist and composer Moira Smiley in a Workshop and
Performance Saturday, March 15, Old Main Chapel. The open workshop (No
songwriting experience necessary) will begin at 4 p.m., the performance
highlighting her solo works, along with those of the workshop, will
begin at 8 p.m. Refreshments will be provided at both events. This event
is funded in part by CU Late Night.

SUMMER 2008 CLASS: INTENSIVE BEGINNING GERMAN
GRMN 1030-100: Intensive Beginning German, Session A (June 2 - July 3)
8:10 - 10:50 am M-F, 5 credit hours, Instr: Patty Schindler. Covers the
same material as GRMN 1010 and GRMN 1020 in one course. Focuses
on acquiring ability to understand and speak everyday German; on
developing reading and writing skills; and on learning about the
cultures of the German-speaking countries. Course is intensive and
requires 100 percent attendance and daily effort.
