    HOLOCAUST AWARENESS WEEK

    Holocaust Awareness Week, Feb. 26-March 2. Monday evening at 7 pm,
    Pierre Sauvage, a survivor saved by a Christian community, will speak
    in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. Tuesday evening at 7 pm, Historian
    Michael Berenbaum will speak about what motivates individuals to save
    others. Wednesday evening at 7 pm, Deborah Lipstadt will speak about
    the realities of anti-Semitism today. All presentations are free and
    open to the public.

    OSCAR PARTY

    The CU Book Store will be hosting an Oscar Party Feb. 23, 8 am-5 pm.
    There will be previous Oscar winning movies playing, free popcorn and
    you can enter to win a $25 gift card for the store. Just complete and
    Oscar ballot with who you think will win and those ballots that are
    correct will go into a drawing for the gift card. Come and join us!

    CHRONIC PAIN? FINDING PAIN RELIEF!

    A free lecture on finding pain relief will be provided by Phil Cambe,
    MD, a board-certified physiatrist (physician specializing in physical
    medicine and rehabilitation) with Boulder Community Hospital's pain
    management program, on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 12-12:45 pm in UMC Room
    247. Dr. Cambe will describe the latest approaches for easing
    persistent pain. This program is co-sponsored by the Boulder Campus
    Wellness Committee, Boulder Community Hospital and Wardenburg Health
    Center.

    GLBT SAFE ZONE TRAINING

    This interactive training works to help participants develop a deeper
    awareness of personal ideas, stereotypes and assumptions related to
    the GLBT community and help increase participant's comfort level
    supporting GLBT individuals within the university community. March 2,
    10 am-3 pm (with a 45 minute lunch break). Provided by the GLBT
    Resource Center and Interactive Theater Project. RSVP to

    HOW IMAGES OF BEAUTY ARE USED AGAIN WOMEN"

    Discuss Naomi Wolf's book "The Beauty Myth" on Monday, Feb. 26, 12-1
    pm in UMC 457 (Dennis Small Cultural Center) or on Monday, March 5,
    6-7 pm at the Boulder Bookstore. We will consider the implications of
    beauty standards and examine strategies for change in a relaxed and
    informal atmosphere. You are welcome whether you've read the whole
    book or only a chapter. Book discussions will precede Wolf's lecture
    on March 6 in the UMC Ballroom.

    TWO NIGHTS WITH STEPHEN GYLLENHAAL

    Stephen Gyllenhaal is poet, director and producer who has directed
    films such as Waterland and Homegrown, and episodes of the popular
    television shows Twin Peaks, Felicity, and The Shield. He will read
    from his poetry book, "Claptrap: Notes from Hollywood," Thursday,
    Feb. 22 at 7:30 pm in ATLAS 100. There will be a clips show of his
    work and director's Q&A on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 pm in the ATLAS
    Theater. Both events are free.

    300 YEARS OF GOLDONI!

    The Department of French & Italian at CU-Boulder celebrates the 300th
    Anniversary of the birth of Carlo Goldoni, the famous Italian
    dramatist of the 1700s, with an exhibit, "Goldoni & Venice," in the
    CU Humanities living area on the first floor of the Humanities
    building throughout the day on Monday, Feb. 26. The film about
    Goldoni, "Servant of Two Masters," will be shown in HUMN 150 on Feb.
    26 at 7 pm.
