2007 CHANCELLOR'S EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Please nominate deserving staff for the 2007 Chancellor's Employee of
the Year Award. The deadline for receipt of nominations is Tuesday,
March 13. To nominate a staff member, simply forward a letter of
nomination and a minimum of two letters supporting the nomination to:

PEOPLE OF COLOR FILM SERIES
February 7: Something the Lord made: Two men defying Jim Crow rules
to change the face of medicine. Facilitators: Debbie Frazier and

The Episcopal Ministries to CU-Boulder (EMCUB) and St. Aidan's
Episcopal Church invite you to Morning Prayer at 8 am on Mondays,
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, Holy Eucharist is
offered at 7 am. All are welcome. We also offer Sunday evening
worship and a free home-cooked dinner (for students) at 5 pm every
Sunday. We are located on Colorado Avenue (2425), across from the

REMINDER: STUDENT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
The deadline to nominate your student for the Student Employee of the
Year Award is Monday, Feb. 5!
The Student Employment Office is accepting nominations for Student
Employee of the Year. Work-study, hourly and salaried student
employees are eligible. First place will receive a $75 gift
certificate courtesy of the CU Bookstore and will be nominated for
the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators Award.
Second place will receive a $50 gift certificate.

CARTSS FUNDING FOR SOCIAL SCIENCES PROJECTS
The Scholars program supports research activities of social science
The Seed Fund provides start-up funds for planning interdisciplinary
research activities involving faculty from one or more social science
departments and colleagues from other fields.
The Teaching Fund provides support for interdisciplinary social
science education initiatives.

HOMELAND SECURITY: FEMINISM, IMPERIALISM AND THE WAR ON TERROR
Women and Gender Studies presents a talk with Michaele Ferguson of
the Department of Political Science, titled "Homeland Security:
Feminism, Imperialism and the War on Terror." The event takes place
in the Hazel Gates Woodruff Cottage on Monday, Feb. 5, 4 pm.

2007 SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The University of Colorado Staff Council (UCSC) is pleased to
announce its annual Service Excellence Award (SEA) for classified
staff and professional exempt employees of the university. The award
is given by UCSC to one qualified individual per campus and one from
the University System Administration and includes an award of $1,000.

HIRING TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES
Employment Services: Paula Erez and Arturo Morales
This course will provide information and guidance on hiring
classified temporary employees and temporary employees through
agencies. We will cover the rules pertaining to temporary hires,
procedures and processes for hiring temporary employees, setting up
classified temporary employees in PeopleSoft, how to work with
temporary agencies, and standing purchase orders. Wednesday, Feb. 28,
