SUBJECT: Be a good neighbor, wherever you roam
As we kick off the academic year, I want to take a moment and recognize how
students are a part of the neighborhoods in the Boulder area. With the launch
of the CU football season - and the upcoming long weekend with its promise of
beautiful Colorado weather - this seems like a good time to share some tips for
having fun and still being good neighbors to each other and to other residents
-- Do your best to keep noise levels low. The Flatirons make for some funky
acoustics, sound carries much further than you would expect.
-- Try not to disturb the people around you doing what they would normally do.
Some students and families need quiet this weekend.
-- Introduce yourself to your neighbors, whether you live on-campus or in our
surrounding community. Start a conversation.
-- Be conscious of your "little neighbors" in the community and set a good
example for our future Buffs.
-- If you are hosting a party off-campus, please remember to sign up for the
Party Registration Program at
http://ocss.colorado.edu/content/party-registration-program. This is a great
program and will help you have control over your party, making sure things do
not get out of hand.
-- Keep the Hill looking good. If you see litter or trash in your yard, please
pick it up.
-- Visit WelcometoBoulder.net for additional information on how to be a good
neighbor and for tips you can use to make your stay in Boulder a safe one.
