SUBJECT: Final Call for Applications for 2011 Boettcher Biomedical Research Grant-Application Deadline is February 15, 2011
Applications are now available for the Boettcher Foundation's Webb-Waring
Biomedical Research Awards program. These highly competitive awards will
support eligible biomedical researchers who are within four years of their
initial career track academic appointment and who have not had major
independent research grants.
The program at CU administered through the Office of the President will provide
a minimum of $200,000 and a maximum of $250,000, payable over up to three years
of research, to three award recipients for a total of $700,000. The goal is to
increase understanding, treatment and prevention of human disease while
advancing promising investigators into independent research. The biomedical
research supported by this new grant program will be designed to find a way to
prevent disease and improve human health through basic and applied biomedical
research. The intent of the program is to fund translational research that
advances a discovery closer to clinical application.
Awardees will carry the title of Boettcher Investigator in acknowledgement of
the award's prestige. Additional investigators will be named at select research
institutions across the State. The University of Colorado Office of the
President manages the competitive program and peer review process for CU grant
applications. Enid Ablowitz is the program manager and Associate Vice
President David Braddock, PhD is the research officer.
The grant application deadline is February 15, 2011. Awards will be announced
in late June by the Boettcher Foundation and will support work beginning July
1, 2011. Interested researchers will find eligibility information, the
application, and submission instructions at https://www.cu.edu/Boettcher.
