ABOUT THE BOULDER SHELTER FOR THE HOMELESS
The Boulder Shelter for the Homeless strives to provide safe shelter, food,
support services, and an avenue to self-sufficiency for homeless adults in
the Boulder community. The Shelter is open October 1st through April 30th
for its Emergency Sheltering Program. The Shelter also provides morning
services, such as showers, laundry services, and mailing services throughout
the entire year.
Men and women who stay at the Shelter are as varied and diverse as any group
of people, with widely ranging histories, circumstances, and aspirations.
Most people who stay at the Boulder Shelter turn to their agency as a last
hope during a relatively brief crisis. In fact, 40% of clients at the
Shelter are employed, and almost 100% of the participants in the
transitional program are employed.
