SUBJECT: Departure of Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement Dr. Sallye McKee
Dear CU faculty, staff and students:
I hope you will join me in bidding farewell to CU-Boulder Vice Chancellor for
Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement Dr. Sallye McKee. Dr. McKee has
informed me she is resigning her position and will leave the university for
personal and family reasons effective June 30, 2010.
I want to thank Dr. McKee for her service to CU-Boulder. As CU's first Vice
Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement, she has strengthened
the university's ties to diverse communities in Denver and throughout Colorado,
and positioned us to make more progress on diversity issues involving students,
faculty and staff.
I want each of you to know that diversity is a core value here at CU-Boulder,
and that I will appoint an interim successor to Dr. McKee in the coming days.
In the meantime, I want to thank each of you for the hard work of diversity and
inclusive excellence that you perform every day on and off campus.
It is my intention that diversity efforts will grow in scope, importance and
impact as we take the next steps to create a diverse community of learning
under the Flagship 2030 Strategic Plan.
Philip P. DiStefano, chancellor
University of Colorado at Boulder
