SUBJECT: Buffalo Can Challenge - Fight Hunger in Boulder County - Yes You CAN!
The Third Annual Buffalo Can Challenge is April 9th, Please read on and
remember Yes You CAN!!!
Want to help fight hunger right here in Boulder County? Get a team together
and compete for the best canned food sculpture in the 3rd Annual Buffalo Can
Challenge. The need is greater than ever, so let's make this year's event
the biggest and best one yet!
The Buffalo Can Challenge will be held at the Carlson Gym on Friday, April
9th. For the first time, we will be holding this event in
conjunction with the Conference on World Affairs. Any campus group,
department, office, and all student, staff, and faculty are welcome to
register as a team. Please register your team and design by April 1st. To
register, go to http://www.colorado.edu/VCH/bucc/registration.html
We have room for no more than 20 teams, so register soon!
All canned food and cash gifts will be donated to the Community Food Share
of Boulder County. Working through over 50 member agencies, CFS efficiently
delivered 6.6 million pounds of food in 2009 (that's 24% more than in 2008).
It is estimated that Boulder and Broomfield Counties have over 50,000
residents living in poverty and hunger is a real part of their lives, every
day....that's enough people to fill up Folsom Field!
So get your cans to the Buffalo Can Challenge, build team spirit while
building your sculpture, and help fight hunger. You CAN make a difference.
This event brought to you by the Volunteer Resource Center, the Institute
for Ethical and Civic Engagement, Community Food Share, Ball Corporation and
