SUBJECT: Leave Sharing Donations
The Leave Sharing Program was established in 1991 to provide leave for eligible
classified employees who are suffering or have an immediate family member who
is suffering from a catastrophic illness or injury that poses a direct threat
to life and requires inpatient, hospice or residential health care. On January
1, 2008, the program was extended to cover officers, professional exempts and
12 month faculty. This program has been very successful due to the generous
donations by Boulder campus staff.
Any University of Colorado Boulder employee may donate annual leave (not sick
leave) to the program. Donations are voluntary and may include hours that would
be forfeited because of excess balances at the end of the fiscal year.
Annual leave hours can be donated to the Leave Sharing Program by completing a
donation form and submitting it to the Office of Labor Relations at 565 UCB.
