    SUBJECT: Campus Non-Profit Mail Permit

As most of you may be aware, the Bulk Mail Processing Center will cease
operations on March 31, 2008. Along with this closing, the current
non-profit standard mail (bulk mail) permit (No. 257) will no longer be
valid. If you have a surplus of items with a pre-printed No. 257 indicia,
please contact Jeremy Pine at 303-492-2206 no later than March 10th to make
    special arrangements.

Imaging Services will be taking on the responsibility of managing a new
non-profit mail permit. Campus customers will have the option of having
Imaging Services print and mail projects, just mail their projects if a
print vendor is used, or just provide the permit and handle postage costs if
    an outside vendor is mailing.

Imaging Services has created an internal accounting process that allows for
campus non-profit permit users to quickly and efficiently cover the postage
costs and be recharged for those expenses. This system involves CU Imaging
Services, the State Treasurer's Office and the US Postal System. Due to the
need to follow set procedures, it is imperative that campus customers
contact Imaging Services to arrange for the payment of postage for their
mailings, even if Imaging Services is not directly involved in the
production of that project. Failure to follow this procedure will result in
increased administrative fees to your department.

Mailing Services will stop accepting work on March 17th and Imaging Services
will begin accepting jobs on March 18th will full transition to Imaging
Services planned for April 1, 2008. To assist with any question you may
have, a "Non-Profit Mailing" web page has been created at the Imaging
Services website. Campus seminars will be conducted in March to assist you
with all manner of mail projects, from beginning to end. Further details on
when and where these seminars will be held will be announced soon.

You may call Tom Tozier, Manager of Imaging Services at 2-5940 or Al
Goranson, Imaging Services Operations Manager at 2-1400 for more
    information.
