    SUBJECT: New Director of the Office of Discrimination and Harassment and
             Office of Labor Relations

    I am pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine Erwin as the new
    Director of the Office of Discrimination and Harassment and the Office of
    Labor Relations. Katherine's appointment is effective March 24, 2008.

    Katherine has worked for the University of Colorado for approximately 14
    years. Katherine began her career at the University of Colorado at Boulder
    in 1991 as an instructor in Norlin Library, where she worked until 1996,
    when Katherine left to attend the University of Colorado School of Law.
    After receiving her law degree in 1999, she returned to the University as an
    associate for the Office of University Counsel, where she worked until April
    2003. In April 2003, Katherine joined the Office of Discrimination and
    Harassment and the Office of Labor Relations as an employee relations
    specialist, investigator and trainer. In April of 2004, Katherine became
    the manager of the Office of Labor Relations and in August 2006, Katherine
    became the associate director for both the Office of Discrimination and
    Harassment and the Office of Labor Relations. Katherine earned her Bachelor
    of Arts and Masters of Science in Library Science degrees from the
    University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

    As Director, Katherine will oversee protected class discrimination and
    harassment investigations and training programs conducted by the Office of
    Discrimination and Harassment and all programs administered by the Office of
    Labor Relations, including employee relations, performance management, leave
    administration, unemployment compensation, Americans with Disability Act
    compliance and State Personnel Board rule and University and campus policy
    compliance and interpretation. Katherine will report to the Executive
    Director of Human Resources.
