SUBJECT: 2008 Eco Pass Questions Answered
As we draw near the end of the year it is time for the renewal of your
faculty/staff Eco Pass. Please read on to answer most of your questions about
the bus pass and renewal process.
I heard there may not be an Eco Pass in 2008, is this true?
No, fortunately we will have the Eco Pass in 2008.
What do I use as my Eco Pass?
The combination of your gold Buff OneCard and a valid RTD sticker (on a clear
vinyl card sleeve) is your Eco Pass - a bus pass good for almost every RTD
service in the metro area.
Who is eligible for the Eco Pass?
Any continuing CU employee working with more than a "20 full time percentage
appointment" on the Boulder campus excluding students and temporary employees.
Eligibility is determined by your employment records in the PeopleSoft system.
When/where will I get my new pass?
Your 2008 Eco Pass sticker will be mailed to your campus box and should arrive
before winter break (between December 17 and 21). If you changed work locations
after Nov. 16th, 2007 please email tracy.calvin@colorado.edu with your new (and
old) campus address to ensure that your pass is sent to the correct place.
If your department receives a pass for someone who has transferred to another
campus box at CU we would greatly appreciate your attempt to forward the pass
before returning it.
If you were hired after Nov. 16th, 2007, you may visit the Buff OneCard office
starting Dec. 17th, 2007 to get your 2008 sticker.
Passes for eligible, employed retirees will be sent to their home address as
listed in their PeopleSoft HR record.
When does my 2007 pass expire?
Your 2007 pass expires on midnight, Dec. 31st. This is a hard deadline and you
must have a new sticker to ride on Jan. 1, 2008. You may begin using your 2008
pass as soon as you receive it.
What if I'm leaving early for break?
If you are leaving early for break, please make arrangements with your
department to have your pass forwarded on to your vacation or home address.
What if my employee record lists an incorrect campus box number?
Please try to call your old department to get your pass forwarded to you or
e-mail tracy.calvin@colorado.edu with your old and new address. Please correct
your information with your payroll liaison. You can check your listed campus
address on CU Connect.
I think I'm eligible for a pass but won't/didn't get one, what can I do?
Eligibility is determined by your employment records in PeopleSoft. If you
have an appointment of 20 full time percent or more, or can demonstrate that
you work more than 416 hours per year on campus please call 5-2705 to discuss
your eligibility.
What if I get a sticker and don't want it?
Please keep your Eco Pass; you never know when you'll need it. Your Eco Pass is
also good for discounts with local merchants through the Eco Pass Plus program.
Visit http://ucbparking.colorado.edu/ecopass for details.
Is my spouse/partner/family eligible for an Eco Pass?
No. The Eco Pass is a benefit for employees only. You can purchase discounted
passes for others at http://www.rtd-denver.com by clicking "Passes and Fares."
What if I have questions about using my pass or the bus system in general?
Please call Tracy Calvin 303-735-2705 or e-mail tracy.calvin@colorado.edu with
all of your Eco Pass or alternative transportation questions. You can also find
bus route and schedule information online at www.rtd-denver.com or by calling
RTD at 303-299-6000. Additional information is available online at
