    The University of Colorado Board of Regents today named 15 people to the
    presidential search committee that will conduct a national search for the
    university's 22nd president.

    The next president will succeed President Hank Brown, who announced in January
    that he will step down in February 2008.

    The regents voted to expand the presidential search committee, which will be
    chaired by Regent Steve Bosley. The committee will provide a recommendation or
    recommendations to the Board of Regents, which is the hiring authority.

    "The search committee effectively represents a broad cross-section of the
    University of Colorado's statewide constituency, and the Board of Regents is
    confident of a great result in this critical search," said Board Chair Pat
    Hayes. "We had 63 nominations, and it was difficult to choose from among so
    many dedicated and talented people. The interest in serving on the committee is
    indicative of how much people care about this great university."

    The next step in the process is an organizational meeting and for the committee
    to receive its charge from the Board of Regents, which is expected to happen in
    the coming weeks.
