SUBJECT: Postage Rate Case Seminar
On May 14th new postage rates will take effect. This year's rate case
includes a wide range of classification changes and processing changes such
as shape-based rates which makes mailing a letter a much more complicated
procedure. Proper mail preparation at the departmental level will save the
University money. For example: A one ounce letter will cost .41 and a one
ounce flat will cost .80. By putting the contents of a flat sized envelope
into a letter sized envelope the university will save .39 and, multiplied by
the thousands of pieces of mail the university sends out daily, the savings can
be significant.
Mailing Services and the United States Postal Service are offering a Rate Case
Seminar for the Boulder campus on April 26th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Fiske
Planetarium. This seminar will provide departments an opportunity to learn
more about the new postage rates and opportunities for postage savings. We
hope to see you at Fiske on the 26th for this important seminar.
