    SUBJECT: Updating Child Care Survey

In 2001, the campus conducted a childcare survey to better understand the
demand for childcare services. The survey indicated a need for sick, drop-in
and emergency childcare. The 2001 survey focused on faculty, staff and graduate
students. As a follow-up to the survey, we are currently conducting focus
groups primarily for undergraduate students with children to learn more about
    their unmet needs.

As a task force, we truly believe the childcare needs for faculty, staff and
students play a critical role in realizing the academic mission of the
university. With that in mind, the taskforce wants to learn more about what
the unmet needs are as well as acquiring information about viable options for
    improved childcare.

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact Ana Johnson via email
at ana.johnson@colorado.edu. Your input is strictly confidential and will only
be used as a part of the data collection process.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to provide input on the issue of
    childcare.
