SUBJECT: DST Update for WebCal Requires Attention

Daylight Saving Time (DST) has been extended by four weeks beginning this year.
In the spring, there will be three additional weeks, starting on March 11
rather than April 1. In the fall, there will be one additional week, ending
November 4 rather than October 28. To accommodate these additional four weeks
of DST, ITS will apply an update to WebCal at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 8.

Appointments entered into WebCal after the update has been applied will be
correct for both the spring and fall intervals. Appointments occurring in
either the three-week spring interval or the one-week fall interval that were
made prior to Thursday's update will have to be adjusted.

To fully prepare, WebCal users should:
    - print out calendars for the DST affected dates (March 11 to April 1 and
October 28 to November 4) before the end of the day on Wednesday, March 7

    - following the update on Thursday morning, use the printed calendar to review
and correct the times of meetings previously schedule in the DST affected
    intervals.

In the meantime, special attention should be given to meetings scheduled from
March 11 to April 1 and October 28 to November 4. One suggestion is to include
the meeting time in the subject of the invitation and/or confirm meeting times
with a separate e-mail message or phone call.

We appreciate your diligence and patience in this process of addressing
Daylight Saving Time changes. If you have questions about this calendar update,
you may contact the IT Service Center at help@colorado.edu or 303-735-HELP
Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additionally, faculty and staff may
contact their departmental Tier 2 CSR with questions about this update. You can
learn who your CSR is on the Tier 2 CSR look up website tool at
    http://www.colorado.edu/its/tier2/lookup.html.

Any new information regarding the WebCal DST update will be posted at
    http://www.colorado.edu/its/hardwaresoftware/dst/webcal.html.
