CU's Rankings and Strengths

The Executive MBA Program is a multicampus program offered jointly by CU's three graduate schools of business: Colorado Springs, Denver, and the Leeds School of Business in Boulder. Each campus's Graduate School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

  • CU-Boulder Ranked 11th Top Public University In World, In Survey Published By The Economist

  • The Leeds School of Business MBA entrepreneurship program was ranked 15th in the nation in the 2005 U.S. News and World Report graduate school rankings.

  • U.S. News and World Report ranked CU-Boulder 32nd among the nation's top 50 public national universities offering doctoral programs out of a total of 162 in its 2005 America's Best Colleges issue. The rankings were based on factors such as academic reputation, student retention, faculty resources, alumni giving, graduation rate and admissions selectivity.

  • Two undergraduate specialty programs were ranked in the top 12 nationally of public universities offering doctoral programs in U.S. News and World Report's 2005 America's Best Colleges issue. The specialty programs were business entrepreneurship (6th) and aerospace engineering (12th).

  • Two undergraduate academic programs were ranked in the top 25 of public universities offering doctoral programs in U.S. News and World Report's 2005 America's Best Colleges issue. The academic programs were engineering (18th) and business (25th).

  • CU-Boulder was ranked number one in doctoral entrepreneurship education by the International Council for Small Business.

  • CU-Colorado Springs distance MBA program ranked in the top 25 for online graduate business programs in the country (U.S. News & World Report online).

  • CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business ranks #17 in worldwide survey — In a ranking of the Top 30 global MBA programs, from nearly 100 surveyed, CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business has received the 17th top ranking.

  • The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is one of the top public universities in the Western United States, according to the editors of U.S. News and World Report.

    In the 2007 college rankings edition, “America’s Best Colleges,” to be released Aug 21, the magazine’s editors ranked UCCS seven among top public western universities offering mostly master’s and bachelor’s degrees. In the 2006 edition, UCCS ranked eight.

    In both the 2006 and 2007 editions, UCCS ranked in the top tier of all public and private master’s universities in the West. Masters universities provide a full range of undergraduate and master’s degree programs.

    In ranking more than 1,400 colleges and universities, U.S. News relies on quantitative measures “that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality, and it’s based on our non-partisan view of what matters in education,” U.S. News editors Robert Morse and Samuel Flanigan wrote in a preface to the rankings.

  • In rankings released in early 2007 by the National Science Foundation (NSF) on federal and non-federal research expenditures, the University of Colorado and its three-university system maintained its position in the top ten percent of universities in the United States. The University of Colorado has maintained its top ten ranking for the last five years. The university system is ranked 14th for total (federal and non-federally funded) research and development expenditures. Among public universities, CU is ranked 6th in federally financed research expenditures.
