Environmental Health and Safety is an attitude. An attitude we all must embrace both professionally and personally. Promoting a culture of safety at home and at work can save your life and the lives of those you care about. Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) is deeply committed to the safety of the people who live, work and study in this community. Your safety and the safety of the general public are our first consideration and a vital part of how the University of Colorado at Boulder conducts business. Without question, safety is our number one responsibility, taking precedence over everything we do. No job or research activity is so important that we cannot give the time and resources to perform our work in a safe manner.

As a comprehensive research institution, UCB faces complex and unique challenges related to human health and occupational safety. Areas such as Nanotechnology, Biosafety and Renewable Energy are at the forefront of new research protocols taking place on the Boulder campus. While we are blazing the trail of new discovery, that trail must be cut with safety in mind.

We trust that the information presented within our website demonstrates our commitments to environmental, health and safety issues. Our success would not be possible without the support of our campus leaders, researchers, faculty, staff and students. We remain grateful for the commitment and dedication of our employees.

We invite you to review our newly renovated website, which provides a detailed account of our EH&S programs and services. We also encourage you to provide us feedback on our performance.
