U.S. Citizen Application Checklist
Domestic Applications for Fall 2007 Admissions
This list refers to the application requirements for U.S. citizens. Students who are non-U.S. citizens or non-U.S. residents go to the International Checklist.
All parts of the application must be submitted to the EBIO department by December 30, 2006 (postmark deadline). Please send any printed materials, such as transcripts, application fee check or letters of recommnedation that were not submitted online to the following address:
Graduate Coordinator
Department of EBIO
University of Colorado at Boulder
334 UCB
Boulder, CO 80309-0034
1. Application: Apply online at http://www.colorado.edu/prospective/graduate/apply/application.html
2. EBIO Supplemental Application (found here in MS Word format). Your application will be reviewed by the faculty members (your potential faculty advisors) whose names you list on the EBIO supplemental application.
3. Application fee of $50. Please make your check payable to: University of Colorado. If you use the online application, you may submit your application fee electronically by credit card
4. Three Letters of Recommendation, submitted as part of the online application or by paper copy.
5. Two official transcripts from each college and university you have attended. Transcripts cannot have "Unofficial" or "Student Copy" noted on them. It is preferable that you have your transcripts sent directly to our office from your university records office. We will, however, accept transcripts marked, "Issued to Student," as long as they are in sealed envelopes and are otherwise official (seals, signatures, etc.).
6. Official GRE scores for both the general test and subject test in biology. Please have them sent here directly from Educational Testing Service. Our institutional code is R4841 and our department code is 0207. We are interested in knowing your GRE scores (even the unofficially reported scores) as soon as possible, so please include this information on your EBIO application or call us if you take the computerized test and know your scores and percentiles.
7. Contact potential faculty advisor(s). Your acceptance depends very heavily upon the recommendation of a potential faculty advisor (see faculty listings), so be sure to contact a potential advisor before the application deadline.
We will notify you several weeks after the application deadline if any of these materials are missing. Those using the online application will be able to check the application completion status online.
You will be noitifed about your acceptance or non-acceptance for admission by mid-April of 2007.
