Research Interests

I am interested in ontogeny and the role of plant development in ecological and evolutionary adaptation. Areas of current research include the evolutionary origin of the maize ear and development of the separation zone in Tabasco pepper fruits. I am also interested in science education and have published on curriculum design and assessment.
