Biodiversity Interests

My earlier work was aimed at orchid floral morphology and phylogenetics. I now focus on the molecular mechanisms that direct flower development in orchids by starting up research on developmental genetics of different floral organs. I am particularly interested in the evolutionary mechanisms behind floral development in orchids and the genes involved. Current projects are running on a variety of both natural and artificially produced orchid mutant phenotypes.
