MORPH Grants
 

Meetings grants, 2006


MORPH meetings grants support conference participation for students (graduate and undergraduate), postdoctorals, and faculty who wish to attend a MORPH-sponsored symposium. This year, MORPH is supporting travel to a symposium entitled The Comparative - Phylogenetic Method Of Reconstructing Evolutionary History at the 2006 meeting of the Botanical Society of America (BSA) in Chico, California.

This meeting grant is for students (undergraduate and graduate), and postdoctorals at U.S. universities only.

Funding amount: MORPH RCN is able to fund awardees at $250 per grant.


Requirements to receive a 2006 MORPH BSA symposium meeting grant

  1. Submission of a signed W9 form (US citizens and resident aliens) or W8 form (non-US citizens).
    These forms maybe downloaded here: W9 and W8.
  2. Attendance at the 2006 meeting of the Botanical Society of America.
  4. Attendance at a discussion section following the symposium.
  5. Submission of a brief report providing feedback to teh MORPH RCN on the value of the symposium (a form will be provided at the event)
  6. Submission of the original version of all appropriate receipts and/or requests for reimbursement.


How to apply

To apply, submit a one-page letter in .pdf format indicating the reason for interest in attending these symposia, the specific symposia that will be attended, and including a single paragraph describing your research program or research interests. Students should provide contact information (name, email address and phone number) for a professor with whom they have worked closely.

All application materials must be emailed as attached .pdf documents to William (Ned) Friedman, ned@colorado.edu. Each application should be no more than one page in length.
