Research Interests

I am interested in the evolution of plant function and its structural bases in early angiosperm evolution. My research merges inferences from living basal lineages of flowering plants with Early Cretaceous fossils to understand the origin and early diversification of ecophysiological processes in angiosperms. Specific focal areas include analysis of leaf form and function evolution as well as stem xylem hydraulic networks.
