Research Interests
Study of plant development and evolution, exploiting Antirrhinum as a key system. A combination of molecular, genetic and morphological approaches are being used to determine how patterns are elaborated during flower development in Antirrhinum and related species.
Areas of interest include genes controlling meristem identity, organ identity, dorsoventral asymmetry, flower shape and flower colour.
Expertise includes genetics, transposon-tagging, site-selected gene inactivation, in situ hybridisation, morphological analysis and mathematical modeling.
