Welcome to The Collinge Lab

Research in the Collinge laboratory centers on the role of landscape spatial heterogeneity in shaping ecological processes, including responses of individual organisms, populations, and communities to spatial variation in landscape structure.

Our research integrates theories and methods of conservation biology, restoration ecology, and landscape ecology to examine ecological consequences of spatial structure in landscapes under varying degrees of human influence. We primarily conduct field research in the grasslands surrounding Boulder. The current, primary focus of our lab is a study of habitat alteration and disease dynamics in black-tailed prairie dogs. In California, we are continuing our research on the spatial aspects of vernal pool ecology and restoration.
