Primary Investigators
Hilda Borko: My research explores teacher cognition, learning to teach, and professional development. For this project, my particular focus is on the use of video cases and web-based resources to support the professional development of middle school mathematics teachers. I am working on the Professional Development Tier with some involvement in the Teaching Tier.
Karen Koellner: My research interests include students mathematical thinking, teacher beliefs and practices and professional development. I am working on the Professional Development tier.

Craig Schneider: I'm a former high school mathematics teacher who currently works on the STAAR project as a designer, co-facilitator, and researcher of the professional development program at CU Boulder.
Sarah Roberts: I'm a former middle school and high school mathematics and science teacher who currently works on the STAAR project as a researcher of the professional development program at CU Boulder.

Eric Eiteljorg: I am interested in the types of educational communities created via the internet in the continuing effort to develop generative growth in teacher understanding. I am working on the Professional Development Tier with Hilda Borko and the Student Tier with Mitchell Nathan.
Jeffrey Frykholm: I was the co-director of the STAAR teacher professional development effort for the first four years.
Mary Nelson: I am interested in Math education and assessment, particularly with regard to algebraic reasoning. I am working on the Student Tier.
Mary Pittman: My research interest is on the teaching of reform-based Algebra and the processes teachers go through when implementing reform-based curriculums to the middle-school. I am working on the Teaching Tier with Jeff Frykholm.
